One dropdown, thirty ratios
Choose the ratio and the form adapts: two fields for a P/E, four for enterprise value. Every result shows the substituted formula beneath the board, plus a rule-of-thumb healthy range so you see not just the number but whether it sits in a normal zone.
The ratios at a glance
Profitability: operating margin = EBIT ÷ revenue, net margin, EBITDA & EBIT, markup vs margin, contribution margin. Returns: ROA, ROE, ROIC = NOPAT ÷ invested capital, residual income. Liquidity: current = CA ÷ CL, quick, cash, working capital, defensive interval. Leverage: debt-to-equity (with the equity multiplier), debt-to-assets, interest coverage = EBIT ÷ interest. Efficiency: inventory, receivables, payables and asset turnover with DIO, DSO and DPO days. Marketing: CPC → CPM, CTR, conversion rate, churn, LTV, CAC payback. Valuation: P/E, P/B, EV = market cap + debt − cash, EV/EBITDA, dividend payout.
Worked example
Current ratio for a small manufacturer.
Enter current assets 200,000 and current liabilities 120,000.
200,000 ÷ 120,000 = 1.67 — inside the 1.5 – 3.0 rule of thumb.
The board also shows working capital of 80,000.
How to use it
Pick the ratio from the dropdown.
Fill the two to four fields that appear.
Read the result, the substituted formula and the healthy-range row.
Compare the rule of thumb against your industry norm before acting on it.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good current ratio?
The rule of thumb is 1.5 – 3.0: twice as many current assets as near-term bills is comfortable. Below 1 signals strain; far above 3 can mean idle assets that could be put to work.
What is the difference between markup and margin?
Markup is profit as a share of cost; margin is profit as a share of price. A 66.7% markup equals a 40% margin — the member computes both side by side so you never quote the wrong one.
How do I calculate ROIC?
ROIC = NOPAT ÷ invested capital, where NOPAT = EBIT × (1 − tax rate). It creates value only when ROIC exceeds your cost of capital — often 8 – 12%.
What are DSO, DPO and DIO?
The day-length versions of the turnover ratios: days sales outstanding (365 ÷ receivables turnover), days payables outstanding, and days inventory outstanding. Together they form the cash conversion cycle: DSO + DIO − DPO.
What is a healthy EV/EBITDA multiple?
Roughly 8 – 12× for a typical business; above 15× is rich. EV = market cap + debt − cash, and the member shows the EV build-up alongside the multiple.
Why do healthy ranges differ so much by industry?
Capital intensity, inventory needs and margin structure differ — a supermarket turns inventory 15+ times a year while a machinery maker turns it 3. Use the rule-of-thumb row as a sanity check, then compare against sector peers.
