Text tools that show their rules
Every member of this page states its rule explicitly: reading time assumes 225 words per minute, the palindrome check ignores case and punctuation by design, and the gematria member uses standard Mispar Hechrachi values. Pick a tool from the dropdown and paste your text.
Why these exist
Word counts and case conversion are daily writing chores. The palindrome, leet, frequency, and gematria members are the classics — frequency analysis is how substitution ciphers were broken for centuries, and letter frequency against the English baseline (e ≈ 12.7%) is still the fastest sanity check on a puzzle.
Worked example
Paste "A man, a plan, a canal: Panama" into the palindrome tool.
The checker strips punctuation and case, leaving amanaplanacanalpanama.
First half: amanaplanac; reversed second half: amanaplanac.
They match — verdict: YES, a palindrome.
How to use it

Frequently asked questions
How is reading time calculated?
Words divided by 225 words per minute, a common adult silent-reading average. The margin note explains when that over- or under-estimates.
What counts as a sentence?
Any run ending in a period, question mark, or exclamation point followed by a space or the end of the text. Abbreviations like Dr. will over-count slightly.
How does the palindrome check work?
It strips everything except letters and digits, lowercases the result, and compares the first half against the reversed second half.
What is leet speak?
A letter-to-number substitution alphabet from early computing culture: a→4, e→3, and in the full set i→1, o→0, s→5, t→7. The basic member converts only a and e.
What gematria system is used?
Mispar Hechrachi, the standard value of each Hebrew letter (aleph = 1 through tav = 400), with final letters at their ordinary values. It computes the sum for study and curiosity — interpretations vary by tradition.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Like every tool on this site, all processing happens in your browser.
